Nicola:To what extent do we create contexts when we use online platforms – could we just be claiming something that actually is a result of our ‘experiment’ or is an outcome of how we used the technology?
Sibongile Simelane:Thanks Nicola anf Tonny. I will follow thelink
Nicola:eg. might just be how the previous person approached use of discussion forum for research, rather than discussion forum as a technique in general
Kate Whittaker:another schroedinger’s cat question, Nicki?
Nicola:by ‘experiment’ I was meaning like constructed nature of the research design
Nicola:awareness of us playing a role in designing these interactions when we use online/digital tools

Asolutely Janet – Research ethics are always of concern. Thanks for these excellent links and resources which cover not only the aspect at hand but other important linked facets as well. Here in SA we also have to consider the implications of additional facets such as the Protection of Personal Information Act (β€œPOPI”) which was signed into law by the President in November 2013. A lot of considerations, but your resources definitely help with clarifying all these issues.
