saidDear delegate,
Please tell your fellow delegates and out presenter a bit about yourself, who you are, where you come from and your interest in this topic!
Rita
saidRita Kizito, Nelson Mandela Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. As we try to reposition teaching and learning at the core of the institution’s critical mission, e-learning is always at the forefront. My interest in this topic is getting some understanding of what we could do to accelerate elearning adoption -seeing that learning is a very human and social activity. How do we connect to the individuals on the other side of the technology? I am looking forward to this.
Kolawole
saidMy names are Kolawole Akinjide ARAMIDE. I am working as a Research Fellow with the Centre for Educational Media Resource Studies, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. My research focus is in the area of ICT application in teaching and learning as well as in the managment of learning resources for teaching and learning in schools in Nigeria. I am interested in knowing more about how to maximise the usage of technologies in facilitating teaching and learning in basic and post-basic schools. I am very sure I will gain a lot from this seminar.

saidHi, I am Johan Badenhorst. I am Head of e-Learning and Educational Technology at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein. My interest is in evaluating e-learning implementations at universities and my PhD research is directly in this field. I developed a framework for this purpose. I would like to share with you and also get inputs that I believe will be valuable in my research.

saidWelcome Rita, Kolawole, Johan & Wondwossen. Looking forward to engaging with you over the next few days.
I’m Gerrit Wissing, a Senior Instructional Designer at Tshwane University of Technology. Like everywhere else, I suppose, measuring the impact of our online facilitation of learning effort is becoming increasingly important at our institution. This seminar comes at a very opportune moment for us, then. I think I’m going to learn a lot from Antoinette and out participants.
Jolanda
saidI’m Jolanda Morkel, a senior lecturer in Architecture at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and CPUT co-ordinator of the blended part time BTech programme in Architectural Technology presented in collaboration with OpenArchitecture. The programme optimises on-campus, office-based and online learning. I am passionate about using ICT to mediate learning, especially learning that is achieved through projects through enquiry and solving problems. I look foward to learning from my peers.
Antoinette
saidHi everyone
I’m so pleased to meet you all, albeit online. This is certainly a new and exciting endeavour for me.
I trust I will learn as much from you, as you will, hopefully learn from me!
I literally stumbled across the eLearning Maturity Model whilst conducting research on quality frameworks specifically in eLearning. I’m relatively new in the field of eLearning with a background in curriculum and professional development.
Looking forward to interacting with all tomorrow đŸ™‚
Antoinette
saidHi Gerrit!
Small world indeed. Lovely surprise to see you here.
I was just wondering if you have conducted any research to determine this ‘impact’ you’re referrring to. I can certainly relate though. With more resources being channeled into this ‘eLearning business’, we’re almost forced to show value for money…
Antoinette
saidHi Wonde
I was recently in Addis Ababa for the eLearning Africa conference. This is actually where I prsented the paper I will sharing with you all tomorrow. I was just wondring if you attended the conference.
Antoinette
saidHi Johan
I’d be really interested to see the framework you developed. Is it based on an existing framework?

the Centre for Educational Media Resource
Studies, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. My focus and research is on ICT in schools, application of ICT in school libraries, and mobile technology in conducting online exams. I am very sure I will gain a
lot from this groupGerrit
saidHi Antoinette
Henry Mason & Annelise are looking into measuring the impact of a few projects – other than that, I’m not aware of a comprehensive review being undertaken on the scale intended by the model. I’ve invited some others from our institution too – I’m sure we can benefit a lot from using a model such as this one. I’m quite looking forward to learn from you.
Gerrit
saidHi Jolanda & Oni – thanx for joining us!
@all: Please remember to share information about this seminar on your networks – it promises to provide really helpful information on evaluating the institutional adoption status of our online programmes.
Johan
saidIt is based on six existing frameworks, including EMM. I will share an article that will be published in a few weeks’ time. I will try to get the reference details today so that I can make it available.
