Hi All:) I’ve put together a Google folder and we can do a doc for each C (the 7Cs) in there: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwDp4Zed0z5JZUZsVzYyM3BrbzQ&usp=sharing The first doc I’ve made is Conceptualise and I’ve pasted in Jolanda’s questions from that forum post. We can use the doc to answer the questions and use the chat to discuss this aspect.

The linolit where you can add sticky notes: http://linoit.com/users/nicci/canvases/C1%20ePortfolios Let me know if you can add, I set it so anyone can so I hope it works. This is for A2 ‘Consider Course Features’.

For this you need to look at the cards: http://jiscdesignstudio.pbworks.com/f/OULDI_Pedagogic_Aspects_v8_Release.pdf?ld=1 and this doc explains this part of the process https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Dgs32VXQICImvJiPJsojcPFkPw-qpyFnGiqgxwTs3EQ/edit#heading=h.gjdgxs

Course: Integration and implementation of ePortfolios in HE. (Online course). “The initial outcome is to share knowledge and resources to build an online course about the uses and integration of ePortfolios that also seeks to offer advice on appropriate adoption strategies. The course is aimed at people working in edtech at universities who work with lecturers i.e. the edtech scholars across institutions work together to put together an online course for lecturers at their institutions. ”

What is the expected duration of the course?

    1. Nicola Pallitt
    2. Greg Doyle
    3. Ikechukwu Nwanze

Hi Guys:) I have worked on the docs some more. The Conceptualise Google Doc is open to editing by anyone with the link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1osXsZ7ZfmMPWArMbkEPhPGwpQgBtIuRajKM25R8FJoA/edit?usp=sharing and I have done some more on the course features in linolit http://linoit.com/users/nicci/canvases/C1%20ePortfolios (and screenshot attached) I must admit I am finding this to be the hard part…

    Most interesting bits (I think):

What are you hoping to achieve with the learning intervention?
    * My aim is to create something and have it in place that I can refer lecturers to, a process they can work through when considering the implementation of ePortfolios in their curricula. I would like fellow edtech folks to assist with creating something like this because I think we could all benefit from using something like this in our consultations with lecturers who often want a ‘technological quick fix’. I want to create something that is not too intensive but gets them thinking and involved in a process before I meet with them so that our interactions are more informed. Also, because one has limited time during a face-to-face meeting, if they work through something like this beforehand, it means I am also serving them better because they have a better idea of what they want/need.

    What are the main topics?
    * Firstly, to educate lecturers about what ePortfolios are so everyone is on the same page.
    * Different genres of ePortfolios (reflective, showcase, combination, etc)
    * What are the major issues to consider when implementing ePortfolios in a curriculum?
    * What are the pros and cons of different platforms?
    * There will be stories from other lecturers and students about their uses of ePortfolios and examples of these from a range of disciplines, platforms, etc.

So the expected duration, as you will see in the Google Doc still has question marks next to it. But as you will see under main topics, there is also quite a bit to cover… What do you guys think? Any other suggestions and contributions are also most welcome:)

    Hi Nicola
Am also keen on following the great work you are doing. I like the detailed way you have approached the Conceptualisation stage in your design. The visual on course features is also great. Well done!

Thank you Thula and Jolanda:) Group 2 (or anyone new that wants to be) I’ve create a doc for this week (Week 2: Create & Combine) in the Google folder https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M3rcmVXcvp-Asi8atf6vnbfmbryHq-0tXHagZNF80mU/edit?usp=sharing

Grainne was very helpful earlier answering questions I had on Facebook RE the second C ‘Create’ where I was confused about the differences between reusing, tweaking and repurposing. I came to the conclusion that “it’s like a spectrum where reusing you do nothing and use as is, tweak is minor changes and repurpose is extensive changes and then there’s create which is your own resource from scratch.” Grainne added that “Part of the aim is i) to collate all the resources you need in one place and ii) to establish how much time and effort you need to invest and whether or not you have the appropriate skills”.

Hello All. Had access issues but now sorted. I also like the developing thought around ePortfolios as a possible space to “collate all the resources you need in one place” as Nicola mentioned.
